After our meeting last week our yearbook photographer Aidan said he was going to get busy gathering photos in and around the Surface Pattern studios and workshops. On Saturday he sent through a selection of his first batch and I am glad to report that he has some serious skills :)
He seems very adept at using natural light with great depth of field and selective focus. He also has a keen eye for composition. Great stuff!
Ian, Charlotte and I reviewed the photos and were all in agreement he's the right man for the job. This afternoon we met up with Aidan for a quick meeting to give feedback on his shots. We asked him to continue as he has been but suggested that in addition we will need some more colourful shots (the examples below are a little white), we mentioned that this could be done through more macro / abstract shots. Aidan saw where we were coming from and is going to gather more of these shots in addition.
Very pleased with the photography work. Having great photos to work with will really set the yearbook design off. If you're reading this Aidan, keep up the excellent work!
Ian, Charlotte and I are meeting all day tomorrow to work on the content / running order of the yearbook to better help us gage the number of pages and the type of photos needed. Should be good :)
