Having decided on the final profile page layout for the yearbook we set about designing the quote page spreads, using the new yearbook grid as a basis.
We started of using the specific blue colour full bleed with the quotes knocked out of it but this proved to be a little too bold. Also a little too similar to last years edition of the yearbook.
We then tried inverting the recto page, this worked better but perhaps still too similar to last years and lacking in interest slightly.
The edition of a photo adds the interest and helps to showcase the course facilities, much like in a prospectus. A good chance to include images relating to the course but not directly promoting a pupils work. As the comments from the professionals are about the course, it makes sense to have a course related photo that promotes the course as a working studio.
For the pitch we decided to use the studio image idea and to sit the 'yearbook book blue' quote type in white space to better reflect the rest of the book. Helvetica for the quote with the name of the professional in Book Antiqua.
